The Friends of Philip Donnellan
We need your support!
'The Friends of Philip Donnellan' aim to emulate the model of activity and fundraising embodied in the 'Friends of Charles Parker Archive', of which Donnellan was a founder member. Since 1980 this organisation has been highly successful in supporting the establishment, preservation and use of Parker's Archive, advertising and celebrating his achievement.
The aims of 'The Friends of Philip Donnellan' include:
- Fundraising in support of the physical consolidation and preservation of the Donnellan Archive.
- Research and location of existing audio-visual materials related to Donnellan's work.
- Exhibition of Donnellan's films.
- Publication of the autobiography.
- Support and maintenance of this website and the identification of supporters.
Screen West Midlands: Initial Funding
A successful application for funding to Screen West Midlands (SWM, http://www.screenwm.co.uk) by Ian Gasse of Banner Theatre and Paul Long of UCE resulted in the award of £2000. This money was awarded in support of the screening of some of Donnellan's work on 8/9th April 2005 at the Second Charles Parker Day and for the launch of the 'Friends' project.
In order to fulfil the funding conditions of Screen West Midlands and in order to develop the sustainability of this project we are seeking responses to this website and suggestions for events, fundraising etc.
By December 2006 we will publish a research report related to our activities in researching and supporting archival materials.
